چکیده

This paper presents an analytical study of the air-gap magnetic field a Surface Permanent Magnet (SPM) linear machine under no load. By means method images, complex expression conductor, inside air gap between two smooth iron surfaces, is retrieved. Then, integrating conductor expression, formulation current sheet and thus one SPM, using vertical sheets, obtained. At last, no-load for generic time instant, slotless The novelty proposed approach availability, due to different calculation approach, unique closed-form field, quantity that, in literature, usually present Fourier series formulation. Additionally, as calculate integral quantities show goodness slotting function introduced account slotted geometry. Finally, starting from Lorenz’s force formulation, Maxwell tensor form retrieved contribution forces, stress quantity, will be calculated compared with FEM simulations, showing good agreement also model.

Analytical Calculation of Magnetic Field Distribution and Stator Iron Losses for Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines

Permanent-magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) are widely used in electric vehicles owing to many advantages, such as high power density, high efficiency, etc. Iron losses can account for a significant component of the total loss in permanent-magnet (PM) machines. Consequently, these losses should be carefully considered during the PMSM design. In this paper, an analytical calculation method has...

Cogging Torque Minimization of Surface-Mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines Using Hybrid Magnet Shapes

This paper deals with the magnet pole shape design for the minimization of cogging torque in permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM). New shapes of permanent magnet are proposed. The magnet shape is modeled analytically by a set of stacked and well dimensioned layers relatively to the height and opening angle. The final shape of magnet is configured by using three models in view of obtaini...
